As I shared last Sunday, Jairus needed a miracle—for his daughter to be raised from the dead. But there were people in his house who weren’t in agreement with who Jesus was and His power to bring that incredible transformation. They were the mourners, the mockers, and the doubters. So Jesus threw them out of the house! Then He brought in Peter, James, and John, plus Jairus and his wife. Jesus said to the little girl, “Get up!” And she was literally raised back to life! As I read over this scripture this phrase jumped out at me, “Get Out to Get Up.”  It’s just a catchy way to remember this truth. Last week I shared about Saul who hid among the baggage at his coronation ceremony. He allowed his “baggage” of insecurity and fear to be a snare, ultimately ending his rulership. It sabotaged God’s calling on his life. David on the other hand, when it was time to meet Goliath and move to the next level of God’s purpose in his life, “…left his baggage in the care of the baggage keeper and ran to the battle line…” (1 Samuel 17:22ESV) He didn’t allow his past to keep him from God’s divine plan! This week the Lord gave me another thought on this baggage subject.  When David and his men came to Ziklag in 1 Samuel 30, the entire city had been burned down and their wives, children, and belongings taken by the enemy.
